Welcome to the Dysphagia Screening E-Learning Website

The Dysphagia Screening E-Learning Website is intended to offer a theoretical training package for swallowing difficulties. This will enable clinicians to safely and competently screen stroke patients.

Stage 1 - Theoretical E-learning Package

When you have completed this E-Learning tool you will have the theoretical knowledge required to undertake Stage 2.

At the end of each module there will be an online test. You will be able to download a certificate when you have successfully passed all of the modules.

The stage 1 certificate needs to be presented to your local Speech and Language Therapist to allow you to progress to stage 2. This needs to be completed within a 4 week period.

Stage 2 - Practical Supervised Swallow Assessments

This training course has been accredited by UK Stroke Forum (Education and Training), and can display the Quality Mark which signifies adherence to the standards set out in the Stroke-Specific Education Framework (SSEF).

This e-learning tool has been recently updated by the Greater Manchester, Lancashire and South Cumbria Strategic Clinical Network in collaboration with Speech and Language Clinicians from Speech and Language Therapy Departments across Lancashire and South Cumbria.
